Meeting Daniel Budd: The West's Community Conductor
Meet Dan, our maestro of community spirit in the West. To Dan, community is the lifeblood of every town, and it's what makes each place distinctive and vibrant. His territory stretches from Evesham to Midsomer Norton and all the way to Chippenham. No two days are the same for him as he tirelessly seeks out organisations and key local figures to partner with, spreading the word that 'their town is Lit'!
Before his role in community engagement, Dan was a professional musician and music teacher. Even now, he continues to share his passion by running local ukulele sessions, helping others discover the joy of music.
“Community is what gives each town its own unique and distinctive flavour. It comprises local people and organisations, the council and different faith groups, the sports clubs and local charities. One of my greatest joys is when we connect some of these groups together for the very first time and set up new activities and community events.”
