We are seeking a Network Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for maintenance of the Lit Fibre network and exchange build deployment. The person in post will bring expertise in OTDR testing, troubleshooting and full exchange build which will be fundamental in ensuring that out new roll-out locations are ready for deployment and that any customer-related issues are dealt with in a timely fashion with minimal customer impact. This is a brand new role and fundamental to the future growth of our business!
The key responsibilities are as follows:
Network exchange deployment & termination of exchange ODF / OLT equipment.
Maintenance of exchange and build infrastructure, troubleshooting using OTDR testing equipment with full understanding of diagnostics.
Reacting to operational support requests and troubleshooting/root cause analysis for all field network-related issues.
Fibre splicing repair and re-test capability. ‘Node Re-build’ including cabling in PIA.
Proactive exchange network maintenance including line card installation and robust cable management.
Follow current Health and Safety guidance at all times.
Willing to be flexible to call outs including night work, weekend working, and shift patterns when required.

Experience with exchange ODF / OLT installation and termination
Cable rack management knowledge
Understanding of BTOR Cable link deployment and rack patching
Experience of Network Splicing and optical colour codes
Ribbon Splicing knowledge
Firm knowledge of OTDR troubleshooting test/trace and iOLM software
Working knowledge of SFP Power Meter Readings
Strong understanding of HLDs & LLDs + complex Fibre Paths
Good exposure of network infrastructure build ‘End to End’
Full UK Driving Licence
