Residents in areas of Clacton-on-Sea are the latest consumers to be able to order Lit Fibre’s FTTP broadband. From February 21st , the first residents of the town are able to order full fibre services from as little as £23, benefitting from symmetrical speeds, no data limits and reliable, consistent connections.
First announced just 2 months ago on the 17th December, Lit Fibre has quickly and efficiently worked to bring the first area of the town live, with homes in the south and east areas of the railway station the first to be able to order. Lit Fibre is the first network provider to deliver symmetrical, full fibre services to the town, with many more homes due to go live soon.
Residents living within these areas will be able benefit from full-fibre broadband services with a choice of symmetrical 100Mb, 500Mb or 1Gb packages. Introductory prices start from just £39 a month for the flagship Lit1000 gigabit service, and are subject to a minimum 12 month period.
Tom Williams, CEO of Lit Fibre, said “We’re excited to be able to bring gigabit services to Clacton-on-Sea. We know how much the town has been suffering from poor broadband, being left behind by others who just talk of bringing better services here. Residents can now start to order symmetrical gigabit services and finally benefit from our reliable, consistent connections.”
Cllr Lesley Wagland, Cabinet Member for Economic Renewal, Infrastructure and Planning at Essex County Council, said: “Digital connections are a huge benefit to our residents and businesses and we’re delighted to see commercial operators rolling out gigabit broadband across the county at a fast pace. We look forward to working closely with Lit Fibre and will continue to support the important work they do.”
Working with firms like Lit Fibre, who build with minimal disruption and a fast pace, to deliver next generation connectivity that will improve lives and boost the regional and national economy is key for our town.”
Lit Fibre’s 10Gb capable network delivers a much more reliable and consistent service than the old copper based network in the town. Work continues to bring the network to the rest of the town with new homes being added to our coverage regularly over the coming months.
Meanwhile, Lit fibre has taken the decision to postpone its build in Frinton-on-Sea to limit disruption to residents from multiple fibre operators already building networks in the town.
Clacton-on-Sea residents who aren’t in the initial launch areas can register interest at www.litfibre.com to be kept updated on the progress of Lit Fibre’s deployment to the rest of the town.
